Intro

Oxford Street is one of the busiest shopping streets worldwide, with more than 160 million shoppers visiting each year. New West End Company (NWEC) wanted to create a comprehensive online platform for people to refer to as the number one source for the latest news, offers, and competitions on Oxford Street.

Overthrow Digital hired me as lead UX/UI designer for this project. My role inlcuded wireframing, prototyping and UI design.

Challenge

NWEC wanted to drive sales into Oxford Street’s British and International brands which range from retail to food. Therefore, a point-by-point user experience would be vital for browsing the abundance of content featured on the website.

Solution

We created a unique online presence for Oxford Street that encouraged consumer following, engagement, and loyalty. The platform is full of content-rich pages for improving SEO, and unique functionalities to make the site useful for different personas.

One of the key features the itinerary feature. The itinerary would encourage shoppers to explore all that Oxford Street has to offer in an innovative and organised way. Whether users are complete newbies to Oxford Street and need help navigating through the street; or experienced shoppers who need to organise their shopping day out.

Results

Users found the website to be informative, content-rich and UX-friendly. The platform was responsive across devices and optimised for online presence (SEO, Google Analytics) which allowed visitors to have optimum experiences. The unique itinerary function was also very well received among users.

The Oxford Street website continues to thrive online with thousands of unique users from all over the world visiting the site.
